On July 11, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands Cai Weiming met with Minister of Health and Medical Services of Solomon Islands. They exchanged views on cooperation in the field of healthcare between the two countries.

Ambassador Cai pointed out that the healthcare field is an important part of the practical cooperation between the two countries. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Solomon Islands, both sides have actively carried out healthcare cooperation and achieved fruitful results. China is willing to continue to deepen cooperation in the healthcare field with Solomon Islands, and enhance the well-being of the people.

Minister of Health Dr. Paul Popora Bosawai of Solomon Islands thanked China for its outstanding contributions in improving healthcare infrastructure, strengthening the capacity building of medical staff, and enhancing the level of health services. He expressed the expectation of continuously deepening the healthcare cooperation between the two countries and promoting the sustainable development of the healthcare sector in Solomon Islands.
