H.E. Ambassador Cai Weiming Attends Lantern Festival Celebration Hosted by Solomon Islands Chinese Community

On March 3, H.E. Ambassador Cai Weiming attended the Lantern Festival celebration jointly organized by Chinese community in Solomon Islands and the Chunghwa School. Hon. Prime Minister Manele,  Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Acting Commissioner of RSIPF, members of Chinese Police Liaison Team, as well as more than 100 representatives of the local Chinese community participated the event.

H.E. Ambassador Cai extended his festive greetings to Chinese compatriots in the Solomon Islands and expressed his appreciation to the Chinese community for working together to host cultural activities that promote culture exchanges between China and the Solomon Island. He encouraged local Chinese communities to continue to keep their ancestral homeland close to their hearts, abide by local laws and regulations, actively give back to society, and make new contributions to the friendship between China and the Solomon Islands.

Hon. Prime Minister Manele commended the Chinese community for its contributions to the country’s economic development and social prosperity. He conveyed the Government’s sincere appreciation to the Chinese community for constructing the new police post in support of law and order and reaffirmed the Government’s ongoing commitment to stability, security and economic vitality in the community.

Guests enjoyed amazing cultural performances, witnessed the handover of the Chinatown Police Post donated by the Chinese community to RSIPF, and experienced traditional Chinese cultural activities. The festive atmosphere was joyful and vibrant.
