On June 18, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to the Solomon Islands, Cai Weiming, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Solomon Islands China Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association. More than 30 representatives of Chinese communities in Solomon Islands attended the event.

Ambassador Cai congratulated the establishment of the association and stated that Taiwan has been an integral part of China since ancient times, which is a basic historical fact and an international consensus. He encouraged the association to firmly uphold the banner of opposing “Taiwan independence” and promoting China’s reunification, unite overseas Chinese in Solomon Islands, and contribute to the cause of China’s reunification and the friendship between China and Solomon Islands.

The conference adopted the association’s charter and elected its first council. All council members jointly read the Declaration on Peaceful Reunification. Overseas Chinese attendees expressed their commitment to uphold national unity, firmly support the cause of China’s reunification, and make greater contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
